Good nutrition is important for all of us, but even more so for older adults whose nutritional intake may be affected by chronic illness, medication, or physical limitations. A nutrition professional assesses a person's nutritional status and creates a plan with options and advice to improve the patient's nutritional health and quality of life.

Look for these warning signs that could signal that your loved one is suffering from poor nutrition:

  • Difficulty chewing or   swallowing
  • A condition that requires a special diet
  • Weight loss
