Advance Directives
By discussing your loved one’s end-of-life wishes and establishing a legal document called an advance directive, you ensure that his or her wishes for treatment and care will be honored if he or she becomes unable to communicate or make decisions.
Advance directives come in two main types:
- living wills
- medical powers of attorney
