Alzheimer's
    
        
	        
	             Older adults with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia have unique needs. Many skilled nursing facilities have special care units to address these needs. A variety of residential care settings may have Alzheimer's special care units (ASCUs). ASCUs are often cluster settings where people with dementia are grouped together on a floor or a unit. 
             
	        
	             Making the decision to move your loved one into a facility can be very difficult, but sometimes a facility is better for the patient. The physical and mental state of both your family member and yourself need to be considered.
